Human Factors Verification & Validation Engineer Job

HUMAN FACTORS VERIFICATION & VALIDATION ENGINEER is needed for a 12 MONTH PLUS CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in Indianola, PA.

- Prior exposure and relevant hands-on experience in product development, verification/validation and human factors/usability in the medical device industry.

What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform human factors/usability engineering, verification and validation (V&V) tasks in support of the new product development and life cycle engineering processes
- Draft V&V plan, perform Task Analysis, co-ordinate interactive customer meetings, conduct usability testing (formative and summative), draft V&V protocols, prepare test cases, perform dry runs of the protocols, validate test set-ups, co-ordinate testing with lab technicians and generate verification reports.
- Co-ordinate with stakeholders and customers in performing verification that the design meets the product requirements
- Capture discrepancies during testing, assist in driving them to resolution by supporting the discrepancy review process
- Participate in technical reviews and cross-functional documentation reviews
- Participate in technical evaluation of new products for usability
- Identify areas of improvement and propose creative solutions for improvements in complex electromechanical and disposable devices
- Participate as a member of cross-functional product development teams
- Adapt with changing workload to meet budgets and timelines, and assess priority based on impact to overall business
- Effectively present complex technical information to an audience of varied expertise/level for guidance, education and decision-making

What You Need to Bring to the Table:
- Bachelors of Science in Engineering preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Bio-Engineering with two (2) plus years of experience. Master's Degree (MS) preferred.
- Prior exposure and relevant hands-on experience in product development, verification/validation and human factors/usability in the medical device industry - a plus
- Excellent understanding of V&V engineering, human factors/usability engineering and medical device design and development
- Prefer prior working experience in an FDA regulated environment and Quality Systems Regulations with knowledge of documentation systems (ie, Verification/Validation Protocols, SOPs) required of a business in the medical device industry
- Prior experience in performing Usability Task Analysis, leading usability testing for medical device products - a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot and make quick knowledge and experience-guided decisions
- Very good written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience with methods and tools of project management and ability to manage timelines
- Excellent people skills, ability to partner well, good team player
- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools especially MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.
