Projektbeschreibung

A new role has arisen for a Human Factors Engineer to join a private enterprise on a 8 to 10 week contract basis.

As the Human Factors Engineer, your expertise will cover dedicated techniques and technologies related to Human Factors, ideally within Automotive vehicles. You will be working alongside a team of Subject Matter Experts to make meaningful, balanced, weighted and explainable trade-offs between requirements during the development steps of a solution/product, ensuring consistency of the solution/product against the customer's requirements.

In order to be successful in this role you need to be an analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills to ensure difficult technical issues are resolved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Participate in the elicitation of Human Factors body of Knowledge specific to automotive vehicle design to the design team.
- Lead and manage human factors evaluations for all vehicle variants.
- Act as a key member of the design team to evaluate and provide input into internal layout of vehicles.
- Ensure relevant vehicle standards are met, including various off road machine standards.
- Run internal design layout workshops that span internal dashboard design and layout, all driver and passenger controls, stowage locations and designs and radio equipment layout.
- Specify recommendations and design suggestions confidently based on sound Human Factors Automotive domain expertise, experience and qualifications.
- Provide Human Factors expertise including: task analysis, human error identification & human reliability analysis, human factors requirements derivation, early human factors analysis, workload analysis, Workstation design & assessment, ergonomic control room layout design & usability testing.
- Define drivability requirements into derived design features.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Degree qualifications in Engineering (Communications, Electrical, Systems) or related field - beneficial.
- Degree in Psychology/Human Factors - beneficial.
- Experience in Automotive Design
- Demonstrated expertise across a range of HF analysis techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders across all levels of the business.
- Significant experience in supervising a multi-disciplined engineering environment.
