Role: HR Specialist - Sickness absence

Location: Hinckley (with one day a week in Warwick)

Duration: 6 months

Sector: Utilities

Job Purpose:
It will be your responsibility to support the management of sickness absence and reduce the current high levels of sickness. This activity will be approached within the scope of the current absence policy and procedure. The key aim of this role is to support and up skill line-managers/supervisors to effectively prioritise and manage sickness absence management on a sustainable basis.

Key Tasks:
*Create and coordinate a work plan, working with the business to support them in reducing sickness absence in each of the operations areas
*Identifying the current reality from existing data, quantify the scale of sickness absence (long and short term)
*Identify and provide consistent & regular quantitative data reports
*Partner with various stakeholders (Occupational Health, Case Management, Payroll, SSR, MI team, HRBPs) with the intention of seeking advice and highlighting any road blocks/timing issues to ensure a coordinated approach to sickness absence management is maintained.
*Provide advice and guidance to supervisors/first line managers in managing absence ensuring that the current policy & procedure is being consistently and correctly applied
*Working with existing Case Management team, facilitate training and awareness interventions as required around the sickness absence policy & procedure and roles & responsibilities

Experience:
*HR Professional
*Experience of partnering with the business to manage sickness absence within large scale operations area and ideally a unionised environment
*Working with a range of stakeholders to proactively implement HR strategies in an operational/Trade unionised environment
*Knowledge of related employment law legislation - Equality Act 2010 in particular knowledge of reasonable adjustment provisions
*Analytical & Numerate
*Competent with Excel & creating pivot tables/graphs/formulae
*Ideally experience of Office 2010
*Experience of SAP (or other HR System if not)
