JOB PURPOSE:

The role will have overall responsibility for the delivery of the HR operational and people plan to ensure the successful integration of businesses into the Poundland Family.

This is a hands on role ensuring that all aspects of the HR work stream are delivered and implemented in line with the business project plan.The role will be a central point of co-ordination for all areas of HR, working alongside and in partnership with other workstream leaders across the business.

CONTEXT

The post-holder will report into the HR Business Partner (CSC) and will need to co-ordinate all HR activities completed by other members of the HR Leadership team.

The post-holder will need to ensure that all HR activity completed is within the agreed budgetary limits.

KEY INTERFACES AND RELATIONSHIPS:

The ability to create strong and influential relationships is fundamental to the success of this role:

- Effective matrix driven relationships with central HR departments within Poundland and other businesses to ensure the delivery of both corporate and local people plans in line with best practice.
- Strong partnership based approach with local Leadership and project teams that ensure the effective delivery of business objectives and key performance indicators.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACTIONS:1.Review, update and implement the overall project plan ensuring that all HR workstream activity is carried out within the agreed timescales.

2.Report progress and escalate any issues or risks that may impact project deliverables.

3.Ensure other HR departments are aware of their responsibilities andaccountable for completion of workstream activities

4.To be the main contact for all HR activity and tasks and liaison for other workstream leaders ensuring that all HR activity is aligned to the main Company plan.

5.Attendance at all regular project and workstream meetings as and when required.Communicating and/or consulting any output or required actions with other HR colleagues/interested parties immediately.

6.Work alongside HR project members in the review and sign off of resources and materials created as part of the project plan

NEED TO KNOW:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior HR generalist with project management experience of multi-site large scale integration projects.Experience and working knowledge of HR disciplines including TUPE legislation, recruitment, ER, L&D, and employee engagement.Management of integration from a HR perspective.

KNOW HOW:

- A strong HR generalist background and proven project management skills.
- Demonstrable analytical and numeracy skills and able to lead in discussing and analysing different proposals.
- Proven ability to influence and challenge colleagues to achieve collective project aims whilst maintaining effective working relationships.
- Ability to think on your feet and make decisions with a solution focused approach to problems.
- To be an independent, self-starter, who is organised and delivers on projects.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information confidently and succinctly.
- Strong influencing and interpersonal skills, in order to build and develop strong internal and external relationships.
- A personable and professional individual with a demeanour that is a good fit with the company's culture.
- Proficient in main PC offices and familiar with project management methodology and tools.
- Retail/Services background preferred.
