Housing Officer (Income)

My client are one of the top 15 Housing Associations, owning over 34,000 homes and delivering services to 70,000 residents. Having trebled in size in the last four years their strategic plans commit to further significant growth.

They currently require an Income Officer to join the team in their Swindon office on a 1 year fixed term contract. Taking responsibility for the effective implementation of the Association's debt recovery policies you will work with tenants, liaising by telephone, letter and home visits, to minimise rent arrears and associated debts. You will provide debt awareness and welfare rights advice to encourage the take-up of welfare benefits. You will also instigate legal proceedings and appear in Court on behalf of the Association when required.

To excel in this role you will need experience in income management/debt recovery (preferably in a social housing environment), excellent communication and customer service skills and working knowledge of welfare benefits. You will demonstrate initiative, flexibility and tenacity with competent IT skills.

Due to the travel requirements of this role a full current driving licence and access to your own transport is essential.
