Hospital Engineer

My client is seeking a Hospital Engineer for an acute NHS Trust in the Midlands to be the technical person to manage the defects notification for the next 3 months.

With a background in either engineering or building surveying, you will be required to perform the following:

Validate and verify existing defects reports to determine if the content demonstrates a defect is present.
Improve defects reporting to provide concrete evidence as to why the defect exists, using British standards and Best Practice technical guides.
Raise new defects.
Sign off agreed defects to the correct standard.

To be considered for the post your experience must meet the following criteria:

Technical knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical and Building rules & regulations including H&S at work act and CDM regulations.
Awareness of Health Technical Memorandums Health Building Notes.
Awareness of CIBSE technical guides.
Experienced PC skills including Microsoft Windows, ability to use and configure Excel spreadsheets etc.
Experience of a live acute site is desirable.
Excellent influential report writing.
Good communications skills and the ability to communicate in a professional respectful manner.
Liaise with a team of Estates officers and supervisors to raise a defect on their behalf.
Minimum HNC qualification in Building or Engineering.
Review Risk and Method statements.
Manage and liaise with contractors.
Assist the team in small works and life cycle developments.

The post is for 3 months and requires a starting date of no more than 1 week from successful interview.
