Salary: Cash Package potential in excess of £100k, negotiable and considered case by case.

A global leader in the proprietary trading/high frequency trading space is looking to hire a senior UNIX/Linux engineer/architect to join their growing infrastructure team inLondon. The engineer will be involved in the design, architecture, development and maintenance of the global UNIX (Solaris) / Linux (Red Hat) estate. This environment includes physical and virtual servers, high-performing global data and storage networks, and systems automation tools for large scale Solaris and Linux environments.

The role is multi dimensional, split between UNIX/Linux engineering (60%) and development (40%). The role will involve plenty of projects with the management and delivery of engineering solutions. An example of the kind of project the engineer will immediately engage with includes the opportunity to extend the organisations private cloud to provide a standard and scalable platform for applications.

Ideal skill set/experience:

* Strong UNIX/Linux engineering, design and architecture skills
* Complex problem solving and troubleshooting skills
* Strong Python/Perl Scripting/Programming skills (C++)
* Computing or Scientific degree, masters or post doc education
* Ideally experience working with High Frequency Trading/HPC/Scientific/financial computing
