Hedis Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) Job

Yoh has opportunities for HEDIS LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSES (LVNS) to join our client in South San Francisco, CA.

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are currently seeking Licensed Vocational Nurses to assist with HEDIS reviews in 2014. These are Full time contract positions, working February - May.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Perform medical records abstraction in support of annual Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS).
- Apply structured auditing criteria to medical records to determine compliance with standards of the EAS.
- Accurately enter the results of chart audits into a database (eg Quality Reporter).
- Monitor progress towards completion of the annual HEDIS chart abstraction process.
- Utilizes various software applications (eg Quality Reporter, Excel and Word) to support HEDIS operations.
- As required, visit provider sites to identify, copy and collect selected medical records.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current California LVN license.
- Experience pertaining to health care quality improvement or clinical research.
- Familiarity with ICD-9 and CPT coding.
- Experience with abstracting clinical information from medical records.
- Clinical experience in women's health care, diabetes, pediatrics or obstetrics preferred.
- The ability to consistently enter the results of clinical audits into a database with at least a 98% inter-rater reliability.
- The ability to appropriately evaluate medical records and other health care data.
- Experience with the use of Windows-based PC applications with emphasis on word processing, database and spreadsheet software (eg MS Word and Excel).
- Knowledge of NCQA HEDIS abstracting guidelines.
