Head of Underwriting

THE CLIENT
Green Park are working with a Leading UK Financial Services body to hire an Interim Head of Underwriting.

THE INTERIM ASSIGNMENT
The Interim Head of Underwriting role will be intrinsic to facilitating a structured programme of change that will enable this body to greatly increase its capability to handle larger volumes of business as well as enhancing its overall customer experience that it can deliver.

Key responsibilities:
*Ensure all direct reports fully understand their roles and responsibilities and are motivated to deliver a quality service
*Work to implement a culture of sharing best practice and knowledge across the underwriting team
*Carry out regular performance reviews on behalf of direct reports and identifying and implementing training requirements
*Take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the underwriting team and maintaining a strong focus on business aims.

The Interim Manager

The successful Interim Head of Underwriting must be able to display:
*Extensive experience of leading and coaching teams within an underwriting/credit risk function from a background of Commercial & Corporate Banking, Trade Finance or Credit Insurance
*Strong analytical approach and excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills ideally gained within the SME/Mid Corporate market segment
*The ability to work at pace and to manage and drive a programme of essential change
