Our client, a leading retail bank based in London are currently recruiting for a Head of SOX team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the Global SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) department

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:- - Own the delivery of SOX for the bank, including management of UK wide and global teams

- Drive consistency in approach across the global team (and group as a whole)
- Maintain relationships with key department heads involved in the SOX process
- Manage the relationships with external auditors

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:- - Knowledge and experience of controls within financial Services. Wider experience across both wholesale and retail banking would be an advantage, but more important is the ability to demonstrate transferability of skills from current experience.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Ability to understand, implement and drive improvements to a risk & control framework
- Overall understanding of minimum standards' for SOX and control issues reporting
- Good understanding of the financial services industry, its control environment and structure of a bank's financial statements.
- Knowledge of investment banking control framework and best practice.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
