Head of Operational Risk - UK Retail Banking

A tier one global bank is searching for an interim Head of Operational Risk - UK retail banking. This role will be based in London.

The purpose of this job will be to lead the UK Retail Banking (UKRB) Operational Risk team and work closely with Senior Executives to ensure UKRB meet and maintain appropriate operational Risk requirements and standards. It will also be to embed operational risk management culture and methods within UKRB, as well as working collaboratively with Group functions to identify and carry out the work programme of Group Corporate Centre to meet the Group Operational Risk requirements and standards.

The key accountabilities for this role will be split into Operational Risk Leadership (60%), Service Delivery (30%) and Team Leadership (30%).

Successful candidates will present the following skills:

- Ability to implement and operate an operational risk framework and manage relationships with operational risk managers and internal customers.
- Comfortable and credible when working at the most senior levels within an organisation.
- Strong understanding of banking environment and processes
- Strong on process re-engineering and analytical ability.
- Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative to develop ideas and solutions.
- A results-driven profile with good commercial skills.
- Strong leadership skills and capability development.
- Track record of strategy development and implementation.
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly competitive, high profile and complex business environment
