Head of Finance

We are seeking a talented senior accounting and finance professional with experience in the social housing sector to join our housing association client on a short term contract basis.

Due to the short term nature of the role we need an ambitious self starter who can hit the ground running and provide leadership to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.

A key responsibility of your role will be to deliver the accounts for statutory audit and the most important aspects will be:

- Preparing template accounts, disclosure notes and approving all year end pre audit journals prepared by the Finance Team.
- Component Accounting entries for 13/14 Home Improvement Programme expenditure (to clear last year audit recommendations).
- Accounting for new development and collation of all supporting info on new development sites acquired, disclosure treatment and review for any impairment.
- FRS17 pension accounting entries.

In addition to the above you would also be tasked with active involvement in the following:

- Advising on the selection of a document management system for invoices most suitable to new purchase order arrangements.
- Advising on the design of updated rent reconciliation procedures, and testing them as being efficient and effective.
- Updating the cheque mandate, and form filling to request new BACS, Internet Banking and Staff Credit Cards.
