Head of/Director - Logistics Information Services Transition

This position is a senior role within Government (Defence) and will be moving into a permanent position 4 months after appointment should you wish to.

You will be responsible for delivering an operationally-focused Logistics Network Enabled Capability (NEC) to provide information services which support and enable Defence logistics (£bn +). The position ranges in scope from the sustainment of Legacy information systems supporting the Joint Supply Chain and engineering activities to Defence Change Projects that are delivering transformational improvements in logistics capabilities. The post maps closely to the roles of Programme Manager and Chief Technology Officer.

You will lead and manage a Joint team of 500 staff geographically dispersed across sites, alongside a Delivery Partner team of 1000 staff (including staff transferred under TUPE arrangements).

REQUIREMENTS

- Strong understanding of procurement processes and policy.
- Practical experience of planning and delivering logistics within operational and business environments.
- Experience of the successful management of large scale business transformation projects/initiatives - this should include the management of complex staff issues, ideally including reductions/TUPE.
- Evidence of contributing at a strategic level to transformation and of working with senior stakeholders across the defence enterprise.
- Evidence of leading successful large scale IS-enabled business change projects from the concept stage to successful implementation.
