Head of Commissioning & Procurement - Edinburgh - 3 months

Harvey Nash's Public Sector client requires a Head of Commissioning & Procurement to join their Edinburgh based office on an initial 3 month contract.

Key Duties:

. Responsible for all Procurement & Commissioning activity within the organisation
. Developing procurement strategies
. Overseeing the roll out of PECOS
. Gathering evidence to prepare for a Procurement Capability Assessment
. Developing a Contract Plan for the year ahead

Essential Skills:

. Experience of operational, day-to-day procurement
. Strong track record in supplier and contract management
. Change management experience
. Specialist knowledge of the legislative requirements relating to commissioning & procurement
. Experience in drafting contract clauses and interpreting current & existing legislation
. Previous experience working as a line manager
. Good understanding of the potential consequences of non-compliant procurement, including knowledge of the 'Remedies Directive.'

The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a similar position, with excellent communication skills and strong technical skills in procurement.

This contract is available on an initial 3 month contract to act as an interim between two permanent posts. Interviews are available at short notice, with a start date to commence ASAP after.
