HARDWARE SUPPORT

HAZELWOOD, MO

5 MONTH CONTRACT

PROVIDE ON-SITE TECHNICAL SUPPORT DEDICATED TO THE OPTIMIZATION OF DATACENTER CABINETS, ROWS AND SPACES BUT NOT LIMITED TO NETWORK AND SYSTEM INSTALL, DECOMM AND MIGRATIONS.

Will be directed at times for troubleshooting, hardware upgrades and installations, swapping hardware components, cable testing for a large number of CISCO, EMC, IBM, HP, and DELL network and system devices. Primarily directed for sequenced tasks from Project Team Resource.

Will also liaise with local/global client support teams ensuring work is performed within SLA timeframes. Adhere to proper change control and incident management policies and procedures and ensure that asset data are updated accordingly. Will be expected to have familiarity with physical equipment and cabling inspections/install/removal, swap out failed components, testing of copper and fiber cables, enter troubleshooting commands as directed by business support teams. Perform new installations racking and stacking, cable pulls, cable terminations and cable testing. Perform ad hoc requests as directed by on-site management. Familiarity with acceptable DataCenter protocols/practices essential. Shift work is expected as the facility is supported 24 x 7 x 365. 

Requirements:
1 plus year years of experience in installation and hardware support to include punch-down, cable termination and troubleshooting in a mission critical data center environment. Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as a part of a larger team. Able to multi-task in high pressure situations and take 'ownership' of projects/tasks from planning, deployment to post-deployment support. 

Top skills
1. Familiarity with HP, Dell, CISCO, IBM, and EMC.
2. Experience with troubleshooting, installations, cabling, updates.
3. Racking, stacking, install, decomm. Big data center experience is a plus. After hours work is expected as the facility is supported 24 x 7 x 365.
