A global retail client of ours is recruiting for an experienced Hadoop Developer to be the driving force for building solutions. You will be based in the Netherlands on a 6 month contract and working on development project srelated to commerce and web analytics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design and implement distributed data processing pipelines using Spark, Hive, Python, Scala and other tools in the Hadoop ecosystem.
- The ability to design and implement end to end solution in AWS.
- Build utilities, user defined functions, and frameworks to better enable data flow patterns.
- Work wiht teams to resolve operational and performance issues.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

- MS/BS degree in a computer science field or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in a large-scale software development.
- Solid experience of Hadoop
- Strong Java programming, Shell Scripting, Python and SQL knowledge.
- Strong development skills around AWS, Hadoop, EMR, MapReduce, Pig.
- Solid understanding of Hadoop internals
- Experience with databases like Oracle.
- Experience or familiarity with data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and ETL development.
- Experience with AWS components and opensource NOSQL technologies such as HBase, DynamoDB are highly desirable.
- Must be a fluent English speaker.
