My client, a leading automotive manufacturer based in Gaydon, Warwickshire, is looking to recruit a GUI Development Engineer for their Vehicle Engineering division on a long term contract basis.

Position: GUI Development Engineer
Location: Gaydon, Warwickshire

Position Description:
Based at the Research and Development facility in Warwickshire, as part of an expanding Human Factors team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of user interface strategy for physical controls and graphical user interfaces (GUI) to support effective implementation of new technologies and features. This role will require the ability to ensure the user experience of new technology and features meets customer needs and fits with the wider strategy. The role will require the ability to work with a core HMI team and collaborate with Engineering functions, Marketing and Design.

Skills Required:
Sound understanding of Human Factors principles relating to User Interface development Ability to interpret technical requirements and constraints. Ability to develop User Interface strategy from concept through to detailed level

Experience Required:
- Ability to produce clear and concise documentation to a professional standard
- Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised within the local team and interfacing across business functions
- Ability to benchmark, review global customer feedback, Quality data and interpret into User interface requirements - Ability to negotiate, influence and collaborate to achieve objectives
- High drive, and motivation to proactively deliver at pace with minimum supervision
- The ability to manage delivery to meet project timing and deadlines.

Experience Preferred:
Automotive Human Factors development. Educated to degree level in a related discipline (Human Factors, Ergonomics, Product Design, Applied Psychology, Engineering) Higher qualification in related discipline (eg MSc/PhD Human Factors, Ergonomics, Applied Psychology, Product Design).
