Group Reporting Accountant

6 month contractOur client is a leading financial services company based in Edinburgh. They are currently looking for a Group Reporting Accountant to join the Group External Reporting team. The team plays a key role in the provision of financial reporting information and analysis for both internal and external reporting purposesKey Responsibilities:*Closing the plc ledger and the preparation of the monthly MI reports of the Group Finance Entity Owned companies for senior management and includes the reporting of the various companies performance against plan*Preparation of quarterly planning submissions including considering various scenario outcomes*Preparation and distribution of the various Group share scheme accruals for all business units*Assisting with the preparation of the IFRS section of the Groups Annual Report and Accounts, half year Interim Results and other quarterly reporting*Preparation of Group Entity Owned statutory reporting and liaising with external auditors*Develop and maintain strong relationships within Group finance and the wider finance community *Deal with underlying entities to obtain clarification on figures, analyse and advise on remedial action where required*Data and commentary submissions provided by business units reviewed, analysed and challenged to ensure accurateness and appropriateness of information provided*Continuous improvement - looking to add value by challenging existing practices and designing, developing and implementing changes to ensure reporting is in line with industry best practice and adds value. *Maintain a well-controlled reporting environment for internal and external reporting processes. About you:*You will be a fully qualified accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)*Experience in financial services including IFRS is desirable *Strong technical skills, particularly Excel*Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others
