Grid Support Consultant

Role: Grid Support Consultant
Location: Warsaw, Poland
Duration: 6 months+

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Considerable knowledge of principles of computing, communications networks, and characteristics of computing hardware and software used in grid and distributed environments.
- Hands-on experiences with script programming, Java programming. In-depth knowledge with C++ and other programming/debugging languages are definite plus
- 3+ EXPERIENCE PROVIDING SUPPORT IN AN ENTERPRISE HIGH PERFORMANCE COMPUTE (HPC) ENVIRONMENT (10,000 + CORES)
- Strong working knowledge of Platform Computing Middleware suite (Symphony, LSF)
- Strong oral and written communications skills, problem solving and system design skills.
- Ability to analyze varied courses of action and participate in strategic planning.
- Ability to assimilate, retain, and utilize technical and applications-oriented information.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to work with considerable independence and initiative.
- Knowledge of safety and security precautions appropriate to work performed.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Troubleshooting HPC hardware failures: memory, hard drives, motherboards, TCP/IP Networking
- Working with storage/RAID systems, network files systems, parallel file systems
- Working with software/hardware vendors

This Role is between Grid Support (SA support and Middleware support) and client servicing (consulting) and more focused on Grid Support.
