Looking for your first career step in IT? Then this is an unrivalled opportunity to gain invaluable all round experience with the world's foremost agricultural college. We may be situated on an historic campus, but IT-wise we're a bang up to date Microsoft environment.

Using cutting edge technologies such as Microsoft BizTalk and cloud-based business applications, you will gain experience of both IT infrastructure (networks and hardware) and a wide range of business and academic software applications.

In addition, you'll be involved in implementing and configuring new software packages, acquiring all round in-demand IT development skills such as .NET, C#, SQL Server, HTML, XML/XSS, learning how to code, but also how to deliver a professional product through understanding how to test and implement your application.

During your two years with us, you will acquire the necessary skills to work with a wide range of end users, understand their requirements, deliver a product that meets their needs and get a thorough grounding in how IT projects are organised and managed.

In return we'll be looking for an honours degree in Computer Science or similar, a good basic knowledge of MS Office and well developed communication skills. You will also be an enthusiastic team player able to deliver results to deadlines with a flexible approach to working hours.

Over the two year contract, you will be expected to study for a relevant professional qualification which may be by distance learning or day release. There is an expectation of evening study in your own time. Continuance on to year 2 of the program is conditional upon your successful achievement of training targets in year 1.

Depending on the mode of study chosen, the College will pay all or up to 65% of all fees.
