Governance and Risk Assurance Manager

Client - Retail Bank

Financial Service experience is a MUST HAVE for this role.

A management position responsible for ensuring effective oversight of governance and control across Customer Transformation Project. This includes supporting risk assessment and performing assurance of controls using defined Group frameworks, and responsibility for overseeing key internal/external governance commitments eg Audit and Compliance Reviews, FCA letters and E&Y conformance reviews.

The role holder will be responsible for partnering stakeholders internal to the business and maintain a risk and control aware culture

Experience
Experience in management roles within a risk, compliance or an oversight type role with experience of risk and control assessment
Experience of working in one or more Retail Banking business units
Significant experience in undertaking and developing robust control environments
Successful senior stakeholder management - internal & external - particularly across channels and stakeholders sets eg Compliance/Risk/BIA

Knowledge
Detailed knowledge and understanding of control frameworks and the components of identification, assessment and control
Detailed knowledge of Corporate Governance, including Regulated practices and compliance requirements
PC literate - Microsoft Office suite
Broad understanding of UK Retail Banking strategy and operational plans
A working knowledge of Group practice and procedures

Skills & Competencies
Ability to develop interfaces and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders at Senior Manager/SME/BIA/Compliance level.
Communication and presentation skills to deliver effective interaction with individuals and teams ranging from front-line staff up to senior level .
Creative and strategic thinking in order to drive results
Innovative Business change and implementation with customer focus
