GIS Officer, Data Analyst

Data Analyst, GIS, Master Data, MapInfo, FME, M3, Metadata, Data Mapping.

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a government department for a GIS Data Analyst/GIS Officer to undertake the following duties:

-Collating, processing and analysing spatial data, producing high quality cartographic maps to represent the results.
-Mapping data and information flows, identifying ownership and duplication.
-Metadata capture and update.
-Proficient in the use of MapInfo and other GIS programmes.
-Proven negotiating and influencing skills.
-Proven experience of project planning and management.
-Demonstrable experience of maintaining effective working relationships with different stakeholders.
-Excellent communication skills.
-Literacy in relevant IT packages and tools (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MapInfo).
-Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities good practice.
-Able to write clear, concise letters and reports.
-Able to work on projects both individually and as part of a wider team.
-Spatial data management including sourcing, cleaning, processing, analysing, validating and visualization of the data.
-Experience in the use of popular desktop GIS products, preferably MapInfo, FME, M3 and its spatial extension including integration of GIS with other software products and databases.
-Production of high quality maps for multiple purposes from displaying research results to mapping business infrastructure.
-Proficient in the use of image software such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, Inkscape and GIMP for map cartographic map production.
-Use of own initiative and planning work appropriately.
