GIS Engineer Job

GIS ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in ALLENTOWN, PA.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Master's or PhD in GIS related field.
- Proficiency in ESRI platform.
- Commercial GIS experience.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Assignment for a GIS Engineer in the company's Computational Modeling Center (CMC), a technology center-of-excellence providing modelling and analytics solutions for the global organization.
- The GIS Engineer performs digital image analysis and classification, geospatial modelling and quality control. Reports to the Manager of the Computational Modeling Center.
- Developing custom web-based GIS applications using ESRI Components and other GIS technologies.
- Building GIS applications that interface with GIS web services, enterprise databases, and Servers.
- Geo-processing and managing geographic data.
- Derive information products using image processing methods and tools using geographic data and information systems.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- A Ph.D or M.S. in Geographic Information Sciences/Computer Science/Environmental Science/Ecology/Geology with excellent knowledge and skills in geospatial and quantitative analysis.
- Proficiency in ESRI platform is essential.
- Professional expertise in Microsoft SQL databases and ArcGIS server.
- Understanding of statistics and ability to write scripts using Microsoft.NET Framework, JavaScript, HTML 5, CSS and Python and other common Scripting language is highly desirable.
- Background in image analysis and experience with related software is a plus.
