GIS Engineer

Currently Templeton & Partners is looking for an Experienced GIS ENGINEER to join one of our international clients for a position in THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS of 6 MONTHS with option of extension.

THE TASK

Templeton & Partners is looking for a strong communicative GIS ENGINEER who will strengthen the team covering operational support, service improvements and technical project lead related activities.

SOME OF YOUR KEY ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:

- Provide 3rd line operational support, with focus on day to day incident management.
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical application issues.
- End-to-end monitoring and problem management across all technical areas
- Act as interface between our customers and various infrastructure support groups providing operating system and storage/network support
- Work very closely with the customer to provide guidance in the effective use of GIS systems.
- Plan and participate in global GIS Back End ever greening activities like new releases, security patches and application upgrades.
- Automation of workflows maintaining applications.
- Document, maintain and improve service performance metrics Participate in new ArcGIS Server.
- On boarding (technical support) of new GIS functionality into the service.
- Deployment of GIS Back End services to new locations around the globe liaising.

OUR CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR YOU TO HAVE EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS IN:

- Excellent GIS Back End application support skills covering ArcGIS Server, Internet Information Services (IIS), ArcSDE and Oracle on Linux
- Very good IT Infrastructure skills covering Windows Server (and Linux) administration
- Experience with Middleware administration and configuration (Web applications on IIS, Tomcat, Active Directory, Kerberos KDC, DNS)
- Exposure to Python Scripting (optional PowerShell)
- ArcGIS Desktop and spatial data type knowledge
- Experience with FME workbenches
- Experience in multinational/multicultural enterprise
