GIS Data Officer

A dedicated and well established team in Sydney's West is seeking a GIS Data Officer to assist in the maintenance of GIS information used to manage contracts in the Rural and Regional areas of NSW.

REPORTING TO THE BUSINESS DELIVERY MANAGER YOU WILL:

- Manage map data change requests, confirm change requirements and apply changes as required
- Liaise with the GIS team to update the Master Network Maps
- Monitor data and ensure that it is error free
- Determine and troubleshoot data issues and tracking through to resolution
- Address priority incidents in a timely manner and ensure incidents are resolved
- Work with stakeholders to troubleshoot data issues

BACKGROUND:

- Recent experience as a GIS Data Officer working on IT projects
- Experience using ArcGIS desktop software
- Demonstrated skills using ArcGIS desktop for data capture, conversion and manipulation
- Understanding of routing analysis using Network Analyst within the ArcGIS desktop environment
- Experience in spatial data analysis
- Understanding of coordinate systems and coordinate system conversion
- Understanding of and ability to perform GIS data quality control
- Ability to create map layouts and views and produce cartographic maps
- High level verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in both a team environment and autonomously
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
