Geophysicist

My client is looking for a Senior Geophysicist to join their team in Aberdeen. They will work towards characterising the reservoir and overburden through attribute analysis and inversion of seismic traces to derive acoustic and elastic parameters and estimates of rock properties. Projects may include reservoir projects, field development planning, and production development. Responsibilities include predrill seismic assessment of drilling hazards as an essential part of the well planning process, pore pressure prediction from surface seismic data, and time-lapse analysis. This position requires worldwide mobility with no restrictions. Responsibilities Work with the subsurface team to prepare conceptual and detailed basis of design for well completions. Interpret seismic data for multiple purposes. Use inversion processes to calculate reservoir properties such as porosity, lithology, fluid type, and water saturation. Interpret horizons for velocity analyses and general processing parameterisation. Mentor younger members of the team including exploration geoscientists, and technicians assigned to a common project. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in relevant subject preferred. Minimum 10 years of experience in seismic data interpretation. Solid structural and stratigraphic background preferred. Solid experience in processing parameter definition and QC. Structural modeling and mapping skills. Solid experience in depth modeling and conversion. Knowledge of attributes, AVO processing, mapping, and integration with geologic and petrophysical data. Hands-on experience with Petrel, GeoFrame, and InDepth software, among others.
