Geophysicist

I am looking for a Senior Geophysicist/Geophysicist to join an energetic team within an Operator. They will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary asset team, the Senior Geophysicist/Geophysicist will provide geophysical support to the asset teams, working on their own initiative with no immediate guidance or direction. As a senior professional, it is likely that you be involved in commercially or technically significant/commercially sensitive projects and/or complex, non-routine assignments which require the application of considerable technical expertise. You will have the opportunity to continue to develop and widen your technical and business skills/knowledge by undertaking assignments across the asset management and development spectrum e.g. oil, gas, new developments projects.

Responsibilities
- Provides a wide range of geophysical support and technical advise/guidance to the asset team and, as appropriate, project/operations teams, in particular:
- Seismic interpretation and mapping (producing fields, discoveries, prospects and regional)
- Seismic acquisition and processing projects
- Formulation and execution of agreed technical programmes for each asset
- Provide geophysical input into new business opportunity evaluations
- Mapping and depth conversions for input into 3D models and volumetrics
- Preparation of relevant parts of well programmes in partnership with drilling and reservoir engineers
- Assist in preparation of appraisal and development programmes
- Prepare and present material as required internally and to third parties
- Application of appropriate geophysical technology e.g. inversion, AVO, attribute volumes, etc. to aid in reservoir characterisation
- Assessing subsurface risk for opportunities

Person specification
- Previous experience in a similar role within a challenging and diverse asset management environment
- Exposure to drilling/well operations (well planning etc.)
- Proven ability to undertake important projects and/or highly complex assignments/tasks requiring the application of highly-developed technical skills and knowledge without supervision
- Good commercial awareness/understands project financing/cost control principles
- Good awareness of e.g. legislation, licensing, fiscal issues, relevant to the oil and gas industry
- Proven relationship-builder with the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience of supervising/leading technical teams
- Highly effective communication/presentation/report-writing skills
- Self starter/Highly motivated/Well organised
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
