Geophysical Software Analyst - Houston, Texas

Software Testing:

* Provide detailed geophysical testing of GXT's existing and emerging algorithms and software products.

* Ensure that products meet specifications and objectives both geophysically and operationally.

* Provide feedback to developers on geophysical issues and operational hurdles. Champion the cause of the user to ensure the best product.

* Develop testing plans for specific new features and regression testing

* Create synthetic datasets as necessary to perform testing

* Documentation of issues, maintenance of bug database, report of testing progress

Support:

* Provide technical support to internal users and feedback issues to R&D.

* Assist with documentation and training efforts

Requirements:

* At least a Bachelor's Degree in Geophysics, Math, Physics, or related; Advanced Degree preferred
* 3 to 15 years of related Geophysical experience
* 5 or more years experience in imaging or model building
* Practical knowledge of seismic imaging and velocity model building workflows
* 2 years experience in testing of internal software in support of scientific user base
* Working knowledge of seismic processing
* Ability to utilize and test software in an incomplete state prior to final code changes
