The GMEP is primarily responsible for developing a drilling program and prospect inventory to expand the company into new plays. The Goal is to add one or two successful new resource based horizontal programs each year which adds to the already growing company assets. The GMEP will be already familiar with active plays in the US and know what makes each play work.

The GMEP is expected to independently lead the Company to significant growth opportunities in new plays. This requires the ability to direct and manage a group of geologists to achieve the desired results. Must be able to recognize significant opportunities through sound geological, geophysical, engineering, economic and business reasoning and translate these opportunities to results. The GMEP will also provide leadership to counterparts in land and engineering to enable execution of the prospect drilling inventory. Complete and concise presentations of opportunities along with recommended strategies will be presented to VP of Geology and Sr. VP Exploration for approval.

Other responsibilities include directing and supervising Geologists, Geological Technicians or outside consultants, monitoring industry activity and maintaining effective industry relationships, testifying at regulatory hearings, representing the Company in joint industry and partnership meetings, casing point elections, bidding out and contracting mud logging, electric logging services, and screening outside generated deals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Manage overall direction and success of the Company's Emerging plays program.
* Supervise and provide quality control of geological and geophysical activities in new plays.
* Track results of Teams drilling program and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Assist VP of Geology in annual personnel performance reviews and salary increase recommendations for staff supervised.
* Supervise and provide quality control of geological activities.
* Review and recommend drilling opportunities for the VP of Geology and Sr. VP Exploration.
* Coordinate exploration efforts with land and engineering to bring projects to a drillable status in a timely and cost effective manner.
* Maintain drilling inventory for budget projections.
* Track results of Region's drilling program and provide recommendations for improvement.
* Provide direction and recommendations for new plays or opportunities
* Assist VP Exploration in annual personnel performance reviews and salary increase recommendations for staff supervised.
* Actively generate prospects in the Region as time allows increasing the drilling inventory.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

* BS degree in Geology required, Masters preferred;
* 15+ years of recent geologic experience;
* Experience exploring and prospecting in unconventional reservoirs;
* Proven leadership skills and management experience;
* Must have in depth knowledge of geologic/geophysical, land, engineering and economic principles; and
* Demonstrated business acumen of the oil and gas industry.
