FUNCTION LEADER/HEAD OF ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE

The University of Leeds One IT Department wish to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Enterprise Architect.

Your main focus will be to create a high performing Enterprise Architecture capability covering all business processes and IT services. You will provide an effective, efficient and collaborative function that will help the leadership of the university to understand the current landscape and challenges and enable them to envision the desired future state. This will enable the scope and impact of transformational programmes to be fully understood before commissioning.

With significant experience working at senior management level you will have a strong customer focus and be able to develop effective relationships with senior stakeholders, business users, architects, technicians and developers and will have full life cycle experience of Requirements and Process Analysis through to implementation. You must also have working knowledge of TOGAF or similar techniques.

You will be responsible for providing the Architecture framework across the University. You will be required to keep abreast of current thinking; issues; opportunities and advancements across the academic environment (specifically the Student experience and advancements in Research infrastructures) and understand and advise on the impact of technological and process change. In particular:

- Shaping the forward view of IT and ensuring investment is linked to long-term University strategy
- Ensuring that IT systems meet the high standards in the areas of Security Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Service Continuity Management and Performance Management through setting appropriate procedures in these areas, and determining and enforcing the Architecture Framework, Technology Landscape and Architectural Integrity
- Developing, maintaining and enforcing the University's Enterprise and Innovation
- Documenting the current Enterprise Architecture landscape and the roadmap to desired state (to cover business processes, application and service landscape, and technology landscapes)
- To create a proactive, highly visual, simple and clear approach to developing and delivering an integrated Enterprise Architecture function
- Providing leadership and coaching managers in their execution of their management responsibilities.
