Front End Developer - XHTML, HTML, CSS, Javascript

We are currently seeking an additional Front End Developer for our eCommerce team. You will be working as part of an integrated client/Salmon team in a highly interactive environment. You will be a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the business needs of our client are fully understood and met by the proposed solution.This is a practical role requiring someone of excellent technical ability looking to make their mark in a diverse and expanding team.

The successful candidate will need to:

- Create production-ready responsive HTML/CSS web pages
- Focus on user needs and optimum user experience
- Stay current with evolving standards and technologies, learning new skills as required
- Be a strong JavaScript developer with the ability to learn bespoke frameworks

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

- A passion for programming and excitement in taking on challenges and learning new skills.
- Mastery of hand-coded HTML5 and CSS3 (using LESS and SASS), adhering to W3C standards. semantic markup; standards enthusiast.
- Experience implementing responsive websites
- Strong JavaScript skills, experience of MV* frameworks (Knockout, Backbone, Angular etc.)
- Experience using HTML templates
- Experience using API's
- Willingness to contribute to both large, complex projects and smaller tasks as directed.
- Ability to work quickly and manage multiple projects and timelines to strict deadlines.
- Great attitude, strong work ethic, excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Excellent problem solving ability.
- Good understanding/awareness of Usability, Accessibility, Cross Browser issues.
- Experience using GIT and working in a continuous integrated development environment

DESIRED

- Solid information, interaction, and visual design skills.
- Experience building JavaScript single web page applications.
- Knowledge of JavaScript build tools.
- Knowledge of Java, Clojure, Ruby.
- Experience of working on Java projects would be extremely advantageous.

The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate examples of the following technologies HTML, Javascript, CSS and ideally Java and StringTemplate. Ideally they have A GitHub or Bitbucket account where examples of their programming works can be viewed.
