Formulation Scientist

Projektbeschreibung
One of our clients, a pharmaceutical company, currently requires a Formulation Scientist.
Location: South of Brussels
Duration: Until end of year 2014
Start date: June 2014
Mission Description:
* Develop pharmaceutical clinical formulations (ie solid dosage forms) and their manufacturing
processes (dry/wet granulation, blending, capsule filling, tabletting) at lab -scale and at pilot -scale
and support D4P formulation team from an operational point of view.
* Support the development of particle design technology platform by designing and executing lab-
scale experimental trials (eg Spray -drying, bottom -spray coating, ...).
* Plan, execute, report in agreement with the manager and with the support of other scientific and
technical staff.
* Test and assess different DP processes (eg high shear granulation, top -spray fluid bed
granulation, roller compaction, ...) for different type of solid dosage forms including powder in capsules, spray dried powder, pellets, instant granules, immediate release film -coated tablets, modified release film -coated tablets, and any other more innovating formulation
* Carry out experiments at lab -scale (batch size lOg - lkg) as at pilot -scale (batch size 1kg - 25kg)
in non-GMP as in GMP environment.
* Issue trials batch record (Author & Review) and record relevant data throughout lab work and
ensure appropriate documentation record to ensure capturing critical process data and allow
appropriate analysis of processes.
Specific professional/technical expertise and key skills required:
* Has knowledge of commonly -used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
* Relies on instructions and pre -established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
* Works under immediate supervision.
* Bachelor degree (Senior technician, > 5 years' experience in this field)/Master degree (Junior, >
1 year experience in this field)
* Operational experience in pharmaceutical industry in solid dosage form (dry/wet granulation,
blending, capsule filling, tabletting) is a mandatory.
* Operational experience in spray drying technologies is a must.
* Good knowledge of French and English (written and oral)
* Good practical experience with Excel, PPT, MS Project, Word
* Experience in technical documentation
