Forensic Analyst

Our client is a highly respected, international financial company seeking a FORENSIC ANALYST (Junior Level) to provide technical support for internal investigation matters.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

- Perform evidence collection and preservation in support of electronic discovery requests
- Carry out project management and assessment tasks
- Perform data analysis in support of Anti-Fraud & Forensics initiatives
- Take lead on investigations where forensics are a key component

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide technical forensic support for investigations and incidents in a large-scale Windows enterprise environment
- Conduct end-to-end remote forensic investigations
- Forensic acquisition and analysis of systems and data
- Parse and analyze enterprise scale logs and other large data sets
- Identify systems and data applicable to incidents and investigations
- Liaise and seek approvals where necessary to access, acquire and process data
- Identify and preserve evidence
- As necessary and appropriate, follow "chain of custody" procedures
- Operate forensic hardware and software as appropriate
- Work with stakeholders and decision makers
- Lead investigations and maintain investigation, case, and evidence notes and records
- Write investigation and forensic reports
- Apply technical knowledge and expertise to non-forensic tasks, reports and communications good oral, written and presentation skills explain and write technical concepts to non-technical people
- Support and enhance investigation and fraud related data analysis in coordination with global team leads
- Support new project initiatives
- Assess current processes and procedures and identify areas of enhancement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5-7 years' experience as a digital forensic analyst in a large corporate setting, including experience with EnCase Enterprise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field
- Familiarity with Enterprise Windows configurations
- Ability to work under pressure
- Self-motivation
- Good team player
- Ability to operate with limited supervision

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS

- Intermediate to advanced level Encase Examiner or equivalent certification
- CISSP
- Internet forensics: Experience with TCP/IP, HTTP/HTML, JavaScript, ASP, AJAX, Java, Sockets, SMTP, SSL, PKI, P2P
- Enterprise forensics: Experience utilizing Scripting languages (Perl, Python) in a enterprise system administration or computer forensics setting
- Familiarity with Windows APIs, COM/OLE
- Electronic discovery, evidence preservation, chain of custody
- Live memory and malware forensics
- Mobile phone and device forensics
- IT incident management
- Phishing and Internet crime response
- Big data log analytics
- Experience in system administration and operational support
- System design and engineering
- Security and system hardening
- Database or software development

Candidates must be on site in New York City. This will be an ongoing contract position of no fixed length.
