Floating Housing Support Worker

Fixed-Term Contract until 31 March 2014

15 hours a week

Inward House Projects deliver an individualised structured framework of housing support across all our Recovery Housing Services. Our aim is to ensure the package is tailored to help address the often multiple needs of individuals associated with substance misuse. We adopt a holistic approach with our clients so that they can continue to sustain their recovery and reintegration as a valued member of society.

The Floating Housing Support Service has been established to work alongside people with substance misuse issues in addressing their housing issues. The aim is to help individuals maintain, sustain or acquire appropriate suitable accommodation by giving practical help and support

As a Floating Housing Support Worker you will assist tenants with drug/ alcohol or offending problems to maintain, sustain or access appropriate/suitable tenancies/accommodation.

You will need to possess a NVQ Level 3 and above (or equivalent). You will have knowledge of the 'Supporting People' framework and the housing related support services. You will have knowledge and experience of the welfare benefit system and experience of working in a one to one situation. You will have the ability to organise your own workload and be able to communicate at all levels. You will possess good assessment and administration skills. You will have a tolerant and non-judgemental attitude and be sensitive to the needs of others.

You will be required to work some unsocial hours and be able to travel throughout the areas where the services are being delivered.

The position is subject to a CRB check at an enhanced level
