FLEET INSPECTOR - VEHICLE MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS, VEHICLE SPECIFICATIONS

Contract. Ayr. 3 months +. £120 - 180 per day. COUNCIL EXPERIENCE HIGHLY DESIRABLE!

One of our council clients has an urgent opportunity for a Fleet Inspector. The main duties of the role will be to assist the Fleet Supervisor to monitor the Vehicle Maintenance Contract and ensure compliance with the Councils Operator Licence. Write vehicle specifications for procurement purposes. Deal with financial matters such as processing PO requests on the Councils Oracle System. Inspect Council vehicles when required. Assist in any other matters to ensure Fleet Management provide a service to all user departments within the Council.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, COMPETENCES, EXPERIENCE AND RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS

- The candidate should ideally have experience of working with local authorities.
- The individual should be a strong communicator with good networking skills.
- They should be a time served mechanic experienced in both light and heavy commercial vehicles.
- Applicant/s must be in possession of a valid Car Driving Licence and professional HGV Licence with a minimum category C entitlement

DESIRABLE SKILLS

- Knowledge of procurement and/or contracts would be beneficial with some experience in writing vehicle technical specifications.
