Fleet Consultant

Our client is a major transport organisation, currently involved in the rail franchise bidding process.

They currently require an additional team member in the Fleet and Production workstream as support to the Lead. the primary focus will be on delivering the strategy for new trains the integration and new depots. It will also include identifying rolling stock issues and quality efficiency improvements.Most of thes strategies are defined but require an experienced Rail Engineering, Fleet or Production Consultant who is able to draft the final bid plan across these elements for submission. In order to write these specifications, the position will involve liaison with both internal & external contacts. Internally this will include Fleet, Operations & Commercial teams. Externally this will include with Roscos, Network Rail and other maintenance/rolling stock organisations to research the issues involved.

We are interested in experienced Fleet and Rolling stock consultants with strong technical expertise and strong written skills, ideally worked at a senior level and been involved in introducing new trains into a fleet. Rail franchise bidding experience is advantageous, but not essential.

The position is likely to be five days per week for an initial three month period.
