Financial Readiness Specialist

* FINANCIAL READINESS SPECIALIST - EDINBURGH - 6 MONTH CONTRACT.*

Our public sector client has a fantastic opportunity for a FINANCIAL READINESS SPECIALIST to join their team that provides financial readiness advice to companies with high growth potential which need to raise external risk capital (bank debt and/or equity). This advice takes a company to the point where the management team, financial health, funding package and commercial proposition (as reflected in business plan) are improved to the point where the company is able to raise external risk capital to finance their growth plans, leading to increased turnover and job creation. The Specialists help companies develop an investable proposition so that they can raise the risk capital necessary to commercialise their growth ambitions. The specialist will work intensively with a portfolio of companies.

The team works closely with Scottish SME's who have both high growth and export potential. Our objective is to assist these companies plan for, identify and successfully secure appropriate growth capital ranging from grant funding, equity and debt.

Frequent travel, by car or public transport from Aberdeen to the Scottish Borders. However, most companies are likely to be based in the Central Belt.

Desirable experience:

- Direct experience of raising external risk capital for growth and export potential SMEs;
- Experience of commissioning and working with professional financial advisors for early stage and growth SMEs;
- An established and wide ranging network within the Scottish investment community
- Corporate finance skills (ability to analyse and assess company financial statements)
- Ability to assess business plans
- Relationship management skills
