Financial Insight Manager - Edinburgh - 6 months

My client is offering an attractive opportunity for Financial Insight Manager based on an initial 6 month contract in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will drive the financial strategy for Personal & Business Banking and provide insight into the strategic direction for the business areas.

Basic outline of duties:

- Provide frameworks and recommendations to optimise balance sheet, product mix and volumes vs. margins within a constrained environment
- Analyse the financial and operational data/information produced by the business to identify key trends
- Identify opportunities and risks in business strategies affecting product and customer profitability and recommend adequate action to senior stakeholders
- Understand competitor dynamics sufficiently to assess the implications for the future financial performance and strategies
- Ensure robust but balanced challenge is provided to financial strategies

Essential Skills:

- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Good stakeholder management
- Previous experience working with banking products
- Understanding of regulatory requirements regarding capital and the impacts to business strategy (eg Basel III, Economic capital)
- Ability to evaluate the profitability of product proposals
