Financial Governance Accountant

PRG&rsquos client, a highly successful financial service organisation based in Edinburgh has an excellent contract opportunity to recruit an experienced Financial Governance Accountant.

Reporting to a Senior Manager, you will work on a number of key projects across finance, group finance and financial operations.

You&rsquoll be involved in designing and embedding a Data Governance Framework across wider finance functions.

Core responsibilities:

Design and embed a data governance framework
Apply quality assurance controls to all work produced ensuring accuracy and validity
Communicate with multiple stakeholders
Oversight & Review of Statutory Accounts Returns
Divisional Management Accounts Attestation
Perform Controls reviews
Track financial issues via SOX and Audit process
Ownership of new Governance activities
Analysis of manual journals

This role is role which will require a &lsquohands on&rsquo approach working with multiple project teams and excellent relationship building skills are essential.

Experience of working in a Change / Project environment will be advantageous, as well as being able to demonstrate a strong problem solving and investigation qualities.

You will be a qualified Accountant, with an accounting governance background and look to challenge existing processes.
