POSITION DESCRIPTION:
SunGard Financial Systems provides mission-critical software and IT services to institutions in virtually every segment of the financial services industry. The primary purpose of these systems is to automate the many detailed processes associated with trading, managing investment portfolios and accounting for investment assets. These solutions address the processing requirements of a broad range of users within financial services, including asset managers, traders, custodians, compliance officers, treasurers, insurers, risk managers, hedge fund managers, plan administrators and clearing agents. In addition, we also provide professional services that focus on application implementation and integration of these solutions and on custom software development.

Responsibilities include:
* Preparation of annual statutory accounts for UK companies in accordance with UK GAAP
* Review of balance sheet reconciliations prepared by other teams, ensuring reconciled balances agree to statutory trial balance figures
* Preparation of reconciliations/other schedules or disclosures required for external audit/statutory purposes, and ensuring the provision of external audit file
* Preparation of annual UK tax returns and assisting Tax department to complete and file returns in a timely manner
* Preparation of US tax pack, annual internal tax reporting
* Completion of annual 5471 intercompany reporting forms
* Statutory adjustments: ensure SUN accounting system agrees to local statutory accounts and perform regular retained earnings reconciliations
* Assist with the preparation, review and maintenance of local to US GAAP transactions/balances
* Assist Transfer Pricing team with queries/projects where applicable
* Booking of quarterly tax provisions on SUN accounting system and ensure corporation tax reconciliations are prepared
* Assist in acquisitions entering the London Shared Service Centre
* Assist other sectors of SunGard outside the EMEA SSC with technical issues
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, internal auditors and CFO's of business units on financial and tax issues
* Assist with SOX compliance and testing
* Undertake other ad hoc duties as required, within UK or European statutory teams

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
* Qualified Financial Accountant, with post qualified experience
* Experience in preparing financial statements and involvement in external audit and compliance process is crucial
* Experience in preparing/reviewing balance sheet reconciliations preferred
* Strong Excel skills (Excel 2010 preferred)
* Ability to work to deadlines and excellent time management skills
* Strong communication, analytical and organisational skills
* Able to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on being pro-active and taking initiative where possible
* Experience of "dynamic" multinational environment This a 12 month fixed term contract.
