Financial Accountant

Our client is a highly successful Blue Chip member of the UK Power Generation & Supply sector.

They're seeking an experienced and driven Financial Accountant to join them on an initial six month contract based out of their Coventry offices.

Any prospective applicant will need to be a self-starter and capable of adapting to new environments quickly and effectively, you will also need strong working experience around MS Excel and SAP and you must be either CIMA or ACCA qualified.

Duties:

*Assist in the migration of monthly accounting close work from sites (power stations and CHP stations) to the Accounting Centre GL Close team
*Contribute to the financial close of the Generation business ledgers each month
*Collection and input of monthly accruals data
*Ownership for relevant Generation entries in SAP
*Performing relevant balance sheet reviews and reconciliations
*General ledger maintenance including ensuring cost codes, work breakdown structures and cost centres are being used correctly
*User access control to SAP
*Ensuring required internal controls are adhered to
*Assist in providing audit information
*Maintaining good working relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external
*Work with the wider GL close team to deliver improved accounting processes and controls
*Reporting to the Assets GL Close team Manager Dimensions

Key Skills/Experiences

*Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA)
*Excellent numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
*Excel skills and financial accounting systems experience (ideally SAP)
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an enthusiastic team attitude
*High level of self-motivation, drive and initiative
