Finance Test Associate

We are looking for a talented individual who will support the testing of Revenue and P&L toolsets which support all components our large enterprise client. In this role, you will assist with the testing and validation of various reports and environments which go towards supporting report writers, product management team, and business partners. To support this you will need to understand the environment (both from a Back End and Front End perspective) while also understanding the business rational for such reporting to accurately detail, document, and validate the process. Through this, you will ensure the integrity, security, and quality of the toolset while providing support for it as a whole. Additionally, you will work closely with BI and reporting technologies and thus, should have a strong passion for applying your business, technical knowledge, and testing know how to develop documentation and comprehensive testing scenarios to support the toolset.

The ideal candidate should have an understanding of financial business processes and the ability to translate that understanding to documentation and test scenarios using strong information worker skills. Further, the candidate should also be able to provide critical feedback that translates up, providing for simplification, agility, and better reporting scenarios.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with design, documentation, implementation, execution, delivery, and maintenance of testing processes/solutions for all FBIS customers and reporting solutions and internal groups as relating to Finance Reporting Operations
- Assist with estimates for scope, schedule, assessing risk, and identifying key assumptions for the testing process
- Assist with training and process integration, of reporting solutions to ensure value realization
- Analyze and troubleshoot existing processes and workflows - proactively challenge where required
- Analyze business operations including interfaces with various systems from data validation through reporting, ensuring integrity of all processes and data within the system
- Review audits to ensure data quality - team with internal and external business contacts to proactively respond to data and system interface issues as required
- Understand the various dependencies and relationships across financial applications and leverage that in testing scenarios and documentation
- Collaborate with Product Management, Report Development, Production Support, and Business Owner teams to assist in the delivery of required system enhancements through SDLC
- Perform business validation testing on tools and models as required
- Create documentation, processes, and tools to support future directional goals

QUALIFICATIONS:

- BA/BS in Finance or Information Systems with two to four years relevant experience (or related discipline) required
- Strong system analysis skills and experience with high attention to detail
- Understanding and working knowledge of relational databases, T-SQL, familiarity with OLAP, and MDX as well as a strong passion for technology
- Familiarity and understanding of the Microsoft BI stack (Excel, SQL, Analysis Services, SSRS, etc.)
- Strong Excel skills (CubeValue functions, macros, Vlookups, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal) along with ability to collaborate internally or cross group to influence stakeholders
- Ability to multi-task, deal effectively with ambiguity, and self-prioritize under pressure
- Strong problem solving ability and ability to utilize experience to create documentation and testing scenarios and proactively drive opportunities to resolution without supervision and/or within stringent deadlines
- Working knowledge of the SDLC and associated processes
