These roles have been released on a temporary basis they are looking for a Financial Project officer with SAP experience based in Lewes and East Bourne.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To provide a professional and comprehensive service by assisting the Transformation and Governance Manager in analysing exchequer business processes with the objective of improving efficiency and effectiveness in order that the County Council's can improve service delivery.

Key Tasks
* Support and assist the Transformation and Governance Manager in the implementation of new financial systems, best practice and corporate initiatives in relation to the Accounts Payable (Creditors) and Accounts Receivable (Debtors) function in accordance with the Authority's preferred project management methodology. This will include training staff and providing advice to managers
* Develop specialist knowledge of the legislation, regulations, policies and systems (SAP and Controcc) applying to the designated service area and assist with the implementation and communication of changes that have an impact on operations or service delivery within the County Council and through the managed exchequer service.
* Contribute to the review and development of the effectiveness of financial services, systems, processes and records, suggesting improvements to ensure best value for stakeholders and customers.
* Undertake day to day tasks in other financial functions as determined by the Transformation and Governance Manager, and to demonstrate a commitment to understanding the key service aspects to provide a high level of support for these functions.
* To undertake financial projects, electronic service delivery and business process re-engineering.
* Assist with the development of business systems and processes and associated ICT needs, produce user requirements specifications and assistance in the design and/or evaluation of suitable information systems.
* To undertake projects in accordance with the County Council's chosen project management method, adhering to the principles laid down in the County's Project Management Manual.
* To maintain effective working relations with finance managers and staff demonstrating an understanding of the issues relating to the customer's service delivery needs.
* To assist in the development of new and more responsive methods of information recording and use, particularly in relation to meeting targets for electronic exchequer service delivery.
* To develop and maintain an awareness of emerging technologies and best practice within the ICT industry.
* To ensure that all work undertaken conforms to appropriate professional quality standards, sufficient to maintain and enhance both the reputation of Business Services.

Key Skills & Abilities
* Good ICT skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word to an intermediate level of proficiency.
* Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively for oneself and others, to plan action in order to meet deadlines and to maintain high standards at all times.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to liaise and communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) at all levels and convey and receive information accurately with tact and diplomacy.
* Personal computer skills to the level of competent use of Microsoft Word and Excel office productivity tools
* Excellent numeracy skills
* Strong report writing skills and the ability to simplify and explain complex data (both qualitative and quantitative).
* Ability to analyse and interpret information
* Ability to use own initiative in understanding and completing tasks.
* Project Management skills.
* Strong negotiating & influencing skills.
* Ability to produce corporate standard project documents e.g. project definitions and plans.
* Be a qualified Accounting Technician or hold other relevant qualifications
* Excellent knowledge of ESCC SAP and/or Controcc and related systems and processes
* Good working knowledge of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function
* Understanding/knowledge of business analysis techniques.
* Broad knowledge of ICT development technologies.
* Knowledge of the businesses of the department and their relationships with ICT
