Finance Consultant

Our client, a large financial services company, are currently looking for a Finance Consultant to work within the Interest Rate Hedging Products team in Corporate Banking.

The client is undertaking a review of the sale of Interest Rate Hedging Products (IRHPs) to Retail customers as part of a Section 166 undertaking by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

This role will sit within the team responsible for the calculation and fulfilment of redress to the Bank's customers identified for inclusion in the review.

The key challenges are to identify, quantify, validate and present a number of aspects of the customer redress calculation in line with an agreed methodology, in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner.

In this role, you will be required to have the following skills/experience:

*Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years experience in a commercial business facing role
*Good understanding of common IRHPs (eg structured collars, collars, caps, floors, vanilla interest rate swaps)
*Excellent financial modelling skills
*Strong Excel and other Microsoft tools skills
*Advanced ability to distil complex, analytical problems into their key component parts and effectively communicate the impact on the business in a simple and logical way
*Capability to understand a series of unique situations and their impacts on each other
*Outstanding oral and written presentation skills
*Ability to work to tight deadlines
*Good team worker
*Ability to operate with credibility and as an equal player with Senior Managers in the organisation
*Strong commercial acumen
*Ability to operate effectively within an environment of change
*Confident to operate independently and demonstrate flexibility
*Proven people management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, influence and develop team members in Matrix based environment
