Financial Business Partner

Responsible for providing quality financial support to budget holders and to produce meaningful analysis to enable budgets to be effectively controlled.

Key accountabilities

1. To prepare timely and accurate detailed monthly management information reports for budget holders and provide proactive financial support and advice to help them to effectively monitor their budgets.

2. To provide effective input into the production of, and information included in, the monthly and year end management accounts pack.

3. To effectively analyse and scrutinise budget submissions and review these with relevant providers.

4. To assist in the production of the financial year end statutory accounts.

5. To prepare financial reports and costings as required so that information is presented in a meaningful and informative way relevant to the users needs.

6. To scrutinise the general ledger for coding errors and analyse unusual codes to help ensure the general ledger is up to date, complete and accurate.

7. To develop and continually improve the understanding of business processes to help support financial decision making.

8. To proactively seek out and develop improvements to the quality and timeliness of management information reporting through continuous appraisal and review.

9. To contribute to and advise project teams where required.

A CCAB qualified accountant or actively working towards a full CCAB accountancy qualification.

A sound understanding of the principles of management accounting.

Ability to oversee the development and operation of specialist areas of work

Ability to exercise judgement in the application of policy and to develop new approaches and procedures in the departments work.

Ability to plan for and implement change and improvement to systems and procedures

Ability to train and coach staff.

Ability to consult and negotiate with a wide variety of people.

Ability to use computerised business systems with speed and accuracy.

Ability to write concise and meaningful financial reports.

Ability to analyse, critically evaluate and identify trends in financial data and information.

Experience of developing new initiatives, systems and procedures.

Experience of preparing budgets, budget monitoring reports, variance analysis, costings and management accounts.

6 month contract GBP 200 to GBP 250 a day.
