Field Technician (Security Clearance)

Yoh has a contract to hire opportunity for a FIELD TECHNICIAN to join our client in Las Vegas, NV.

POSSESSION OF AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures systems and related equipment are in working condition.
- Perform Site QA's according to defined process.
- Maintains records on repairs, down time, changes and updates.
- Gives customer friendly service while repairing equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two to five (2-5) years relevant experience with network/telecom industry is desired.
- Minimum of two (2) years customer service and support experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record as conditions of initial and continued employment.
- CAPABLE OF LIFTING 50 POUNDS.
- Capable of utilizing ladders or step stools to reach heights of approximately 10 feet.
- Duties require good judgment to work independently toward general results and to make related decisions controlled by precedent and within limits of established policies.
- NETWORK KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Good working knowledge of cable connectors and replacement, such as RJ-11, RJ-45, Voice and Data applications
- Must be proficient in using a laptop to set configurations on equipment such as Cisco Routers and other components of an IP Network.
- Installing new software and hardware into various devices such as PCs, Cisco Routers, Sun Servers, etc.
- Willingness and/or ability to work outside regularly scheduled hours to meet operational needs and to respond to after-hours emergency calls as required.
- FREQUENT TRAVEL - 100% Travel. Applicants must be able to travel to remote sites. Should another location require additional support, technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region.
- OVERTIME - Applicants must be able to support maintenance as required to support roll-out of new sites and scheduled maintenance which may occur at any hour. Technicians will be required to remain on-call but will not earn overtime wages unless called out for maintenance after reaching 40 hours. Compensation above and beyond 40 hours per week is guaranteed at time and a half (1.5 X Rate), should the employee need to provide maintenance.
