Field Electrical Engineer (Field Service) Job

FIELD ELECTRICAL ENGINEER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in WEST BURLINGTON, IA.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Administer and be the customer and field service primary contact for customer Low Voltage switchgear Product Service Advisory (PSA) involving hardware and firmware upgrades to customer System Central Processing Units (CPUs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
- Assist in the data collection to obtain a comprehensive list of all Systems affected by PSA, to include developing a customer, account manager and sales contact list to include in all official communications announcing the PSA.
- Coordinate and track the status of all customer notifications.
- Act as the primary customer and field sales contact to initiate tickets for field upgrades
- Primary owner of each ticket from initiation through field upgrades and updating of factory files.
- Work closely with customer and field service to develop resolution plans, monitor progress, and ensure appropriate closure.
- Issue Purchase order/dispatches for each field service and coordinate with customer trained Field Engineer to ensure they have required tools, programs, passwords and hardware available before initiating customer upgrades
- Order and track shipment of required materials in advance of field service.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and problem resolution support via phone, e-mail and web.
- Interact with technology, supply chain, product management, sales, and field service to provide technical and commercial solutions to issues encountered with the customer system to include, Digital Inputs and Outputs, messenger, UPS, breaker, flex logic, power supplies, IP addresses, VPN set up, Option strings, factory settings, archives, event logs, control screens, system alarms and issues with CPUs and HMI not related to the upgrade encountered prior to or during the upgrade process.
- Document customer cases and actions using case tracking tools.
- Develop tracking tools to track status of customer notification, customer response, upgrades completed, upgrades still to be completed, factory file updates, material shipped, field service cost and other data required per Product Management team and finance.
- Generate and issue HMI activation codes as part of each system upgrade at the time the new HMI image is field installed.

QUALIFICTATIONS:

- BS Degree in Engineering, (Electrical, Computer or related)
- Three (3+) years experience in Field Service
- Available for OT and some phone support on nights and weekends
