We are looking for a FACILITIES OFFICER for our public sector client.

JOB TITLE: FACILITIES OFFICER

LOCATION: WORCESTER

CONTRACT LENGTH: 2 MONTHS INITIALLY WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION

JOB PURPOSE:

To be responsible for the local implementation of Facilities Management policies and procedures.

To ensure the local Force property portfolio is maintained and fit for purpose.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Diploma in BIFM/Facilities Management, or experience of Facilities Management

IOSH General certificate

Demonstrable working knowledge of current legislation applicable to Facilities Management

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Under the direction of the Area Facilities Manager, to act as local contracts manager for cleaning, waste, copier, and catering functions, and monitor compliance with contract schedules.

2. To monitor local FM Quality Management Systems and ensure adherence to ISO9001.

3. To advise on the use of buildings, and monitor operational use and levels of demand

4. To undertake condition surveys and building inspections, including the testing and monitoring of the building fabric and utilities and identify and resolve any condition that poses a risk to Health and Safety or Operational efficiency

5. To act as local receiving officer on building handover.

6. To locally monitor the effectiveness of the Helpdesk and its supporting teams

7. To utilise the Request for Change process to achieve un-planned work.

8. To coordinate Office moves and re-organisation, ensuring an efficient use of space in accordance with policy

9. To manage local car parking arrangements.

10. To monitor and resolve local Access Control systems, and CCTV issues.

11. To undertake workplace and Fire Risk Assessments and organise regular fire drills to test awareness, systems and buildings compliance.

12. In conjunction with the Technical Manager, to identify and ensure the control/removal of hazardous substances and environmental hazards.

13. To locally manage work on the fabric of building and its surroundings through the permit to work system, including the local control of Contractors as per the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.

14. Provide local advice and guidance on FM issues relating to Health and Safety legislation and promote an awareness of legislation, Regulations, Guidelines and Codes of Practice.

15. To implement safe systems of work and site induction processes.

16. To locally manage the disposal of waste in compliance with agreed practice and current legislation
