Overall Purpose of the role;
*Provide leadership and management of the FM areas of responsibility to ensure an efficient and co-ordinated service to meet the full requirements of the Academy.
*To undertake the full responsibility of a Facilities Manager at the Academy ensuring all legislative requirements and policies are fully implemented.
*To act as Health and Safety officer for the Academy ensuring compliance with regulations, legislation and best practice are met.
Job Context
*The post holder reports to the Bursar (Director of Business & Finance)
*The post holder has line management responsibility for: Site Premises Team, Catering Team and ICT Team including Reprographics (AVA).
*The post holder has budget responsibility for : N/A
Key Tasks and Accountabilities
1.To provide efficient and effective support for the Bursar (Director of Business & Finance) and undertake the full responsibility of a Facilities Manager at the Academy ensuring all legislative requirements and policies are fully implemented.
2.Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Academy sites and be proactive in identifying the most appropriate and effective solution to developing the needs of the Academy.
3.To lead and manage the FM areas of responsibility so as to provide an efficient and co‐ordinated service to meet the full requirements of the Academy.
4.To be the principal point of contact for contractual issues with regard to premises related contracts.
5.Project management of the whole school move process ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
6.Manage all aspects of facilities related tendering including energy and utilities contracts as well as compulsory and competitive tendering in accordance with the Academy procurement procedure.
7.To ensure the security, care and availability of the building, furniture, fittings and equipment. To ensure a satisfactory, physical environment and to promote the efficient use of the Academy's assets.
8.To support the continued development of the Academy's extended services and activities, after school, weekends and holidays.
9.To operate and develop the FM procedures and systems in co‐operation with the Bursar and the Headteacher, ensuring that all legal and safety requirements relating to people and property are met.
10.To monitor and oversee the quality of work by contractors and facilities staff, reporting to governors as appropriate.
11.To raise standards and set benchmarks for premises care to ensure a high quality environment in which learning can take place.
12.The post holder must actively model and promote the values and ethos of the Academy.
13.The post holder must at all times carry out his/her responsibilities with due regard to Stratford School Academy's policy, organisation and arrangements for Health and Safety at Work.
14.It is your responsibility to carry out your duties in line with the Academy's policy on Equality and Diversity and be sensitive and caring to the needs of others, promoting a positive approach to a harmonious working environment.
