We are recruiting an Expense Payables Accountant specialising in Employee Expenses based in our super site in Crawley, West Sussex on a fixed term 9 month contract. Working in our Financial Shared Services department and processing employee expenses for Thales staff across the UK, the Expense Payables Accountant will also be responsible to resolve queries up to Financial Controller level and oversee the workload of a team of five.

Role:

Responsible for end-to-end employee expenses processing across multi-operating companies - covering all elements of expenses processing (electronic and manual); query handling and full administration of the company Travel and Expenses credit card.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

- Responsible for end-to-end employee expenses processing across multi- operating companies
- Overseeing of 5 team members focused on one or more elements of expenses processing (electronic and manual); query handling and company credit card administration
- To act as the expenses related subject matter expert/super-user for Oracle
- To act as the UK subject matter expert/super-user for the Marco Polo expense management tool
- Accountable for the successful delivery of superior customer service to multi-customers
- Attend client Service Review meetings/Marco Polo super-user calls and take ownership of actions
- To be an active member of the Payables leadership team
- To successfully transition new business on to the Marco Polo expense management tool and Oracle

Experience, Skills, Qualifications:

Essential

- Overseeing a team of accounts staff/Being the first port of call for team members
- Knowledge and experience of full end-to-end employee expenses processing including the accounting impact within the General Ledger
- Ability to investigate/resolve complex queries with staff up to Financial Controller level
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Minimum of GCSE English and Maths or equivalent

Desirable:

- Detailed working knowledge of Oracle
- Knowledge of an automated Expense Management Tool and the integration to the ERP system
- A'Level/Diploma level education
- AAT studier
